कंप्यूटर जातिवादी नहीं बोल फंसे UP CEO, अब मांगी माफी, MLC Result बाद खत्म होगा बवाल या हंगामा बाकी?

The controversy began when voter records showed bizarre entries such as “Ram ne Yadav ko maara” and “Ram ne Sharma ko maara.” While the Election Commission attributed these errors to software translation issues, its subsequent response referring to caste and minorities triggered criticism from AAP MP Sanjay Singh, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and other opposition leaders. CEO UP later acknowledged that the language and tone of the post were inappropriate for an official government platform and apologised to those who were offended. However, questions remain about accountability, the officials responsible for the mistakes and the safeguards needed to prevent such errors in voter records. Sanjay Singh has also raised concerns about correcting the voter list before elections. The bulletin also covers the counting of votes for 11 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council seats, including five graduate and six teachers’ constituencies. Counting is underway amid allegations and disputes at several centres. In the Gorakhpur-Faizabad teachers’ constituency, a ballot box was reportedly found with a broken seal in Deoria’s Bankata, prompting objections and discussions with candidates. In the Meerut-Saharanpur graduate constituency, independent candidate Vikrant Vashisht had a heated exchange with police over taking a mobile phone inside the counting centre, where phones are prohibited. In the Agra constituency, Samajwadi Party candidate Dr Aakash Agrawal alleged administrative interference and questioned the transparency of counting. The Samajwadi Party also alleged that its graduate candidate Shashank Yadav was stopped from entering the counting centre. Akhilesh Yadav called on the Election Commission to ensure fair counting after reports that the process had been halted. The bulletin further examines the Election Commission’s decision to replace Gorakhpur-Faizabad election observer Abhay Singh with IAS officer Bindu Prakash ahead of counting, following a complaint by BJP MLC Devendra Pratap Singh. Watch The Lallantop UP Bulletin for the latest developments in Uttar Pradesh politics, voter-list irregularities, MLC vote counting and the questions surrounding electoral transparency and accountability.
