After the protest, the students have now ended their sit-in following the government’s assurance that their demands will be considered and steps will be taken on the recruitment issue. The focus now shifts to what action the government takes and when the next recruitment advertisement is released. The bulletin also looks at the developments surrounding Nagina MP and Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad. On September 13, his convoy was stopped in Barabanki while he was travelling to Gonda to meet the family of Vinod Sahani, who died after being attacked on September 9. A confrontation between police and supporters, allegations of stone pelting and injuries to workers were reported. Chandrashekhar Azad has alleged that there was a conspiracy to kill him and has demanded an impartial investigation. This claim has not been independently established.
