His elder son, Gonda MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh, has already attacked the UGC regulation as a double-standard that could disturb social balance, while MP Karan Bhushan Singh has issued a long clarification that the parliamentary standing committee he sits on did not frame these rules, demanded a review, and said universities must not become centres of caste conflict, echoing discomfort voiced by senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra and upper-caste groups protesting across UP.
