Dr. Tharoor believes that Donald Trump is backing off military action against Iran and argues that two of the factors that could be an explanation for this are the pressure brought to bear by Arab countries as well as the realization military action against Iran could have provoked a rally to the flag which would only benefit the Ayatollah regime and be counter-productive for America. Dr. Tharoor also believes that there is a third way Trump could acquire Greenland other than purchasing it or forcibly taking it and that is through a referendum where Greenland voters are enticed to vote in favour of America by giving them money to do so, possibly a million dollars each. On Venezuela, Shashi Tharoor believes Trump’s primary interest is Venezuelan oil and so far he has shown no interest in pursuing the restoration of democracy or helping the Venezuelan opposition to acquire power.
