A ticket to a better life. Only to be kidnapped on arrival, taken captive, tortured and forced to commit cyber scams. This is the fate of lakhs of Indian youths falling prey to an international job fraud syndicate, whose operations are run in the tall buildings located in the disputed lands of Myanmar. With no freedom to leave, no mobile phone and no hope, victims of the scams are made to scam Indians living all over the world. Their modus operandi: Catfish as a business woman, befriend potential targets on social media, obtain their personal information, lure them with lucky draw wins, and when they are unsuspecting, siphon off money from their account. Failing to ensnare targets in three days, the victims are subjected to bone-chilling torture. With no help from governments or human rights organisations, these victims thought they would never be able to escape. Families at home ran from pillar to post, from one minister to the other, with a fear that they would never see their loved ones again.
