His birthday this year has also brought newspaper ads, hoardings across Delhi, diya-lighting events from around the country and ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan running from September 17 to October 17, whose full expenditure is yet to be disclosed. That’s more taxpayer money down the drain. Alongside every event runs a parallel one on our world-famous ‘Godi Media’ channels – from diya portraits to a ‘Namo for Viksit Bharat’ gathering in Vadodara whose free tickets apparently sold out within an hour.
